Monroe Symphony League Book Fair
Book lovers will want to attend the Monroe Symphony League Book Fair, which
begins Saturday, June 7, at the Book Room, located at 320 North 4th St., Monroe. The sale continues on Sunday June 8 and Friday June 13-Sun. June 15. Come from
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday & Saturdays and 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Hundreds of titles will again be available in many genres, including fiction, non-fiction, Arts & Crafts, Gardening, Religion, Humor, Sports, Sci-Fi, Large Print, Mystery, Children’s, cookbooks, textbooks, etc. We have a “Goodies” section, which includes coffee-table books, books about Louisiana & books by Louisiana authors. We also have records, tapes, CD’s, DVD’s, sheet music & magazines. There are bargains throughout both buildings…& greater bargains by the box. Proceeds from the sale are used to support the Monroe Symphony Orchestra & the Young Artists’ competition held each January. The competition encourages & promotes excellence in musical performance in youth & young artists residing in the state of Louisiana. The proceeds also support Sound Safari, a Monroe Symphony League project which gives area elementary students an opportunity to attend a live symphonic concert geared toward children. A FIRST-DAY FEE OF 2.00 PER ADULT WILL BE CHARGED ON SATURDAY, June 7 only. For more information about the book sale or the Symphony League, call (318) 410-1002.
