It’s a long and winding road to make it to all of the Artists’ Studios across Northwest Louisiana that will be open the weekend of April 7-9. April is Culture Crush month, which is a chance for the public to take that road less traveled for an up-close look at how artists work. Shreveport Regional Arts Council, in conjunction with the North Central Louisiana Arts Council, Agora Borealis, Shreveport Common, Artspace, Highland Open Studio Tour Sunday, and Bossier Arts Council, has mapped out a trail in order to get behind the scenes and into the working environments of almost 30 artists from Ruston, Minden, Homer, Shreveport, and Bossier City. In Ruston, four well-known artists will be highlighted on Friday night, April 7, from 5-9pm. Participating Ruston artists include Julie Crews, Hooshang Khorasani, and Kit Gilbert, whose personal studios will be open for the public, and Nick Bustamante, who will have a temporary studio set up inside Main Street Exchange. A map with directions to the Ruston studios is available at nclac.org, and a map of the entire weekend is available at shrevearts.org. The Studio Tour is free and open to the public. For more information, contact NCLAC at firstname.lastname@example.org or (318)255-1450.
